Getting there
To NYC
We’re so excited to welcome you to Brooklyn for our wedding! Below are some tips to help you plan your trip, whether you're flying or taking the train.
✈️ By Air
The three major airports serving NYC are:
JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport) – Closest to Brooklyn
LGA (LaGuardia Airport) – Easiest for domestic travel
EWR (Newark Liberty International Airport) – A bit farther, but still a solid option
Once you land, you’ve got a few ways to get into Brooklyn:
AirTrain + Subway (Best for budget travelers):
From JFK or Newark, you can take the AirTrain to connect to NYC’s subway system. It’s affordable (around $10–$15 total) and takes about 1–1.5 hours depending on your final stop in Brooklyn.Uber / Lyft (Most convenient):
Especially great if you’re traveling with luggage or arriving late at night. Rides from JFK or LGA to Brooklyn typically take 45–60 minutes and cost $60–$100 depending on traffic and time of day.Yellow Taxi (Flat fare from JFK):
Taxis from JFK to anywhere in Brooklyn have a flat fare of $70 plus tolls and tip. Taxis from LGA and EWR are metered.
🚆 By Train
Amtrak / NJ Transit / LIRR
If you're coming from nearby cities like D.C., Philly, or Boston, Amtrak is a great option. You’ll arrive at Penn Station in Manhattan, where you can easily transfer to a subway or take a taxi to Brooklyn.NJ Transit and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) are helpful if you’re coming from other parts of the tri-state area.
Around NYC
Once you're here, getting around the city—especially Brooklyn—is part of the adventure! Here are some easy and reliable ways to explore.
Tip: GoogleMaps will give you drive / taxi / walk / bike options all in one search!
🚇 Subway
The NYC subway is the fastest and most affordable way to get around.
A single ride costs $2.90 with a contactless card, phone tap (Apple Pay/Google Pay), or OMNY system—no need for a MetroCard.
Trains run 24/7, though some late-night service can be slower.
Tip: GoogleMaps is great for navigating routes and train times!
🚌 Buses
NYC buses are a great option if you’re traveling somewhere not directly connected by subway.
Same fare as the subway ($2.90) and also accepts OMNY.
Buses are slower but scenic, and you’ll get a great view of the neighborhoods.

Feeling adventurous? CitiBike is NYC’s bike-share program.
Great for short trips or exploring parks and neighborhoods.
You can rent via the CitiBike app or the Lyft app.
Many stations are located around Brooklyn and Manhattan.
